Chess Isn’t So Hard


I know. Every parent on earth thinks his or her little gem is the brightest flame in the candle shop.

Today, TMBTITU counted to 100 while we were running. And tonight, she set up both sides of the chess board while I was in the kitchen cleaning up. I couldn’t believe it. She’s 27-months old.

Of course, there’s the dark side of all this. The other day she mounted the lawnmower engine to her wagon and drove to the mall. With my credit card.

    Gave TMBTITU up for almost two weeks for spring break. This is the quintessential Einsteinian time dilation; I must be close to the speed of light, because the next 12 days are going to seem like 12 years. I hope she’ll be okay…

    Tonight TMBTITU fell asleep on my chest. No television. No books. Nothing. I just sat there and let it soak into my bones, because I know it won’t last forever. She is truly the most important thing that has ever happened to me. By a very wide margin.
